even while the weather was still so hot, our ladies were busy:
Here are two 80s panels that were sandwiched. One was tied; one was quilted. The moms love these. The nurses tell us they are the first to go in each batch.

Isabel's Pretty Pre-Printed Panel
This is softer looking in reality. I'm sure some mother with a newborn daughter is going to love this one. Isabel lined it with flannel and brought it forward to frame it. Measures 36" x 45".

from a vintage panel.
They say the first colors babies can see is black and white. Both of these quilts are 36" square.

First Week of School is Always Hot
and it starts Monday. Temps are predicted over 100 all week. Tradition holds.
And here are two more quilts turned in at our last meeting:
This was a panel as you can tell. We cut it up and rearranged the blocks to fit our size requirements. Tied to the back.
And here's another one with our colored blocks - a scrappy one measures 36" square.

In August
It may be still summer - and the hottest part of it (at least here) but quilts are still being made. Here's two turned in at our last meeting:
Made by our newest member, Jee Soo and it's her first quilt.
Another one by Gloria. She used some of the colored blocks.

Left Over Nine Patches
These 9 patches came from a swap and are now in a quilt for baby:
I love the stripe that someone donated. We've been able to make 4 quilts with it - all a different color.

Quilt as You Go
A Quilt as you Go baby quilt. Claire has perfected this method. She does such excellent work. She starts with a 9" square for the top and a 11" square for the back. A top and back square are sandwiched with a 9" square of batting. She quilts an X through the sandwich of each block. Then taking two blocks she sews a 1"seam (back sides together) that will run right next to the top and batting. She now folds the seam allowance (one side at a time) in half so the edge of the seam allowance is touching the top/batting. She folds that over the raw edge of the top and stitches it down as you would do binding. Now do it to the other side. Continue to do pair of squares until you have done all the blocks in a row. Connect the pairs to make your row. Once the rows are together, she sews the rows together matching the corners.

Another Cuddly Rag Quilt
These are so easy and great for our group members who don't have a sewing machine. They clip and wash for us and thus make a valuable contribution to our goal of providing baby quilts to first time moms.

Another ruffled one!
Adding a ruffle to a pre-printed/pre-quilted panel makes a baby quilt in no time flat:

Twinkle, twinkle...
Isabel added the white ruffle to this panel and made it so cute! This is a larger panel and measure 42" square without the ruffle. Question: How do we get out the fold in the center? Thanks!
