We Had A Workshop

Our group, St Anne's Sewdality, meets in the AM on a weekday.  Parishioners have asked if we could have a weekend meeting.  After several made that same request quite recently, we decided to have a workshop and show them how we make a quilt.  It was fun and a success - 7 participants came and all were happy to be learning how to quilt - even when they don't have a sewing machine.
One lady requested to learn how to crochet. Since we do donate fleece quilts with a crochet
edge, I invited my Mom to come and show her how. The group quickly grew to three.

We divided the quilt process into steps. Each member had one
assigned to them. They explained what to do and how.

This was the binding station.  We did have sewing stations, too.
And of course the ironing station. We provided treats and drinks, but
they were so busy and enthused they hardly stopped to take advantage of that table.
They did stop for the lunch we provided.  It was fun to get to know them.

Here they're learning how to cut.

Sandwiching a quilt.

Checking on the crocheting. First project - a small dishcloth.

A finished top!

Finished, sandwiched and beginning to tie.
All asked when are we doing it again.  Looks like we might have an auxiliary group for weekends.
